Assistant Director & Director of Research,
The Othering and Belonging Institute (formerly the Haas Institute for a Fair and Inclusive Society)
University of California-Berkeley 460 Stephens Hall, Berkeley, CA 94720
I provide consulting, research, and strategic advisory services for organizations committed to equity, inclusion, and systemic transformation. My work supports institutions, public agencies, nonprofits, and community-based organizations seeking practical, legally sound, and values-driven approaches to equity and belonging.
Through a combination of research-informed strategy, hands-on technical assistance, and interactive training, I help organizations move from intention to implementation.
I offer expert guidance on Proposition 209 compliance and affirmative action–related strategies. This includes policy analysis, program design, and implementation support to help organizations advance equity goals while remaining compliant with legal and regulatory frameworks.
Targeted Universalism provides a framework for setting universal goals while using targeted strategies to meet the needs of different groups. I support organizations in understanding and applying this approach effectively.
I design and facilitate trainings and workshops that strengthen belonging and bridging across difference. These sessions are grounded in research and tailored to organizational context.
I serve as a fair housing expert witness and consultant, providing analysis, testimony, and advisory support in housing-related matters.
